Modular crane barge Powered by OXE Diesel Outboards

Built with HDPE hull technology, the barge offers exceptional durability, impact resistance, and longevity - ideal for the toughest industrial marine environments. But the innovation doesn’t stop at materials, designed by Tim Greeson of TM Marine Services, this vessel can be disassembled, trucked across the country, and reassembled to handle demanding marine support operations anywhere. This allows operators to mobilize quickly, saving valuable time and cost compared to traditional heavy-lift barge transportation.

When fully assembled, the barge leverages PortaProducts brackets that lift the OXE outboards entirely clear of the water. This innovation minimizes saltwater corrosion andreduces electrolysis risk, extending the engines’ service life and loweringmaintenance costs. Both the industrial generator and the OXE outboards run onthe same diesel fuel supply, creating a seamless, efficient, and safe operating environment.

With a design weight of 33 000 lbs (14 969 kgs), this vesselisn’t just versatile - it’s a workhorse. Lago Marine’s crane barge is capableof supporting a wide range of operations, including:

·     Diving and salvage

·     Seawall and shoreline protection

·     Setting navigation aids

·     Marine construction and repair

·     General utility support in demanding marineenvironments

By choosing OXE Diesel outboards, Lago Marine gains thepower, endurance, and fuel efficiency needed to deliver on challengingindustrial marine projects - all while meeting stringent safety andsustainability requirements.

The result? A vessel that redefines what’s possible in themarine support industry: tough, transportable, and powered by the world’sleading diesel outboards.

“Voodoo is probably one of the most fuel efficient power cats of this size in the world. I attribute that mostly to the OXE power plants and her efficient hull design. We usually average about 24 gallons per hour at our cruising speed of 18-22 knots…I would guess the fuel saving compared to the Yamaha 425 for this vessel over 4 years would be around $500k. We calculated about $150k per year savings. We are running even more trips since then so it could be even more…fuel costs are included in our price so the less fuel we burn the more money we make. OXE engines deliver high efficiency running compared to gas engines making my company far more successful.”
