Large construction company Peab chooses OXE225 engines over diesel inboards
"These engines have so much torque, which gives us the ability to maneuver this boat and the barges. This wouldn’t be possible with a gasoline engine, because their torque and gearboxes wouldn’t be able to handle the power and stress of shifting gears on a vessel of this size. Inside we have increased the work environment and reduced the noise and vibrations of the boat - by having diesel outboards on the back of the vessel. Previously this boat had inboard diesel engines which was very noisy."
Martin, team leader at Peab Marin, walks through their new workboat equipped with twin OXE 225 engines, highlighting its key advantages.

torque, Power and ACCESSIBILITY advantages
Interestingly enough, this vessel operates without a bow thruster, relying on the joystick operations for side to side manoeuvring in combination with the high torque delivered from the OXE diesel outboards. The vessel is operating in the Stockholm archipelago and is able to run on HVO100 to further reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 90%.
The previous vessel used in operation was an inboard diesel and the switch to OXE diesel outboards has significantly improved the work environment for the crew, by significantly reducing cabin noise and vibrations for long hours of operation. Having diesel outboards also makes maintenance easier than diesel inboards, with ease of accessibility of the engines, with major service points in reach from the back of the transom.

OXE225
The OXE225 is a bi-turbo configuration that provides its full 670Nmof torque at the propeller already at 2250 rpm. The power and hightorque of the marinized diesel block in the OXE225 proves for anenduring and relentless product, applicable in diverse settings asboth a workhorse and a high-speed solution, as well asrevolutionary bollard pulling power.
