Torque moves boats

OXE300 produces peak torque of 945nm at 2250 RPM, more than any other outboard on the market and approximately
50% more than an equivalent horsepower gasoline outboard. This translates to
massive bollard pulling power, as well as fast hole shot acceleration.

The engine idles at 720RPM with already high torque levels at idle,
making it ideal for station keeping and close quarter manoeuvring. The robust
hydraulic gearbox means that the engine handles multiple forward and reverse
shifting without damaging the gearbox and is very responsive compared to traditional
outboard gearboxes.

OXE outboards can fit up to 17-inch diameter propellers,
larger than most 300HP outboards, opening opportunities to match the correct
propeller to best suit the application and take full advantage of the OXE.

Probably the most fuel efficient 300hp outboard

At wide open throttle, the engine consumes on average 62-64 litres per hour at wide open throttle (4300 RPM), approximately half the consumption vs a gasoline outboard equivalent
and is why we say that it is probably the most fuel efficient 300HP on the market.
Depending on the hull and application type, our customers typically save between
30-40% on fuel consumption on average and therefore significantly extends the
operating range of the vessel.

Smart choice for the enviroment

The OXE300 is approved to run on HVO100, a fossil free diesel which significantly reduces the overall CO2 footprint.

In our own empirical study on the same hull and comparing twin OXE300 vs twin gasoline 300HP, at cruising speed the OXE300 resulted in a 92% reduction in CO2 footprint vs gasoline and 88% reduction in CO2 footprint vs regular diesel.

Running on regular diesel, the OXE300 had a reduction in CO2 footprint of 32% vs gasoline.

An outboard engine built to last

The OXE300 is warranted for 1500 hours of operation with
different time limits depending on the type of warranty policy. The engines are
serviced at 50 hours and 200 hours followed by 200 hour service intervals, which is
double the time of regular gas outboards allowing for more time in use.

Electrical output

The OXE300’s alternator delivers 180 amps, far higher than
other 300HP on the market. This enables the boat equipment to be powered by the
engines and allows for boat batteries to be charged and often negates the need to
have an onboard genset.

Chris Shoupe - Owner/Operator - Voodoo Charters

“Voodoo is probably one of the most fuel efficient power cats of this size in the world. I attribute that mostly to the OXE power plants and her efficient hull design. We usually average about 24 gallons per hour at our cruising speed of 18-22 knots…I would guess the fuel saving compared to the Yamaha 425 for this vessel over 4 years would be around $500k. We calculated about $150k per year savings. We are running even more trips since then so it could be even more…fuel costs are included in our price so the less fuel we burn the more money we make. OXE engines deliver high efficiency running compared to gas engines making my company far more successful.”
